What he is responsible for
MEA divides work among its ministers by formal order. Under Order No. 8400/FS/2024 of 12 June 2024, published on the Ministry's organogram, his charge covers the regions and functions below. The Ministry has one other Minister of State, Shri Pabitra Margherita, whose charge covers other regions.

- On the Prime Minister's direction, he travelled to Kuwait after the Mangaf labour-housing fire to arrange the repatriation of Indian nationals' mortal remains and medical help for the injured.
- Outcome
- According to his Lok Sabha reply (Unstarred Q.754, 26 July 2024), a special IAF aircraft repatriated the remains the same evening. He met Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Health Minister, and the Embassy set up a 24×7 helpline.
